This is a static website. There are no accounts, no logins and no newsletter database. The site itself collects nothing about you directly.

Cookies and consent

Analytics and advertising cookies are only ever set after you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you press Reject, or ignore the banner entirely, no analytics or advertising script is loaded at all. You can change your mind at any time using cookie settings in the footer.

What is stored without consent

Two items in your browser's local storage, both purely functional and neither shared with anyone: your light or dark theme preference, and your cookie choice itself so that the banner stops asking.

What is stored after consent

With consent, Google Analytics is loaded to count page views and see which articles are read, and Google AdSense may be loaded to display advertising. Both are operated by Google, which sets its own cookies and processes data under its own policies. IP anonymisation is enabled for analytics.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Irish ePrivacy Regulations you have the right to refuse non-essential cookies, to withdraw consent at any time, and to request access to or deletion of personal data held about you. Refusing costs you nothing on this site: every article works identically either way.

Search

The search on this site runs entirely inside your browser against a file downloaded with the page. Your search terms are never sent to a server.
